What's going on, everybody? It's Dustin Fiocco with the Detroit Sports Nation coming to you with your daily rundown on a Wednesday, September 2nd
0:07
Lots to get into, so let's get right to the nitty gritty. Yesterday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reporting it
0:12
We can add Isaiah Pacheco's name to the list right there alongside Brian Branch and Kirby Joseph on injured reserve
0:19
So we will not see him for the first four games of the regular season. And to be perfectly honest, I'm not that concerned
0:25
Not to say he doesn't have talent. Branch has got talent. Laporta, who's got question marks around his name. He's got talent. Richard Knight actually saying why
0:33
those guys are very vital to this team, so make sure you check out that article. But I'm not
0:37
concerned because outside of Buffalo, you'll look at the first five games of this season. It is a very
0:42
favorable schedule for Detroit. I think they've got the talent to overcome those missing pieces
0:47
Meanwhile, a team I don't know that has any talent at all at this point, the Tigers, they lose
0:52
yesterday to the Twins 15-2. Boy, do they make me look foolish. I said earlier this week they still
0:58
had a chance entering into September baseball Boy they look bad though A Hinch saying after the loss that he doesn like the position this team is in Well no duh That like Captain Smith saying he doesn like the position of the Titanic when it stern up in the air about to go under
1:12
This is a bad team, and like the ship, the Tigers are sinking fast
1:16
But to conclude on a positive note, it is the season opener for Michigan and Michigan State this weekend
1:21
Spartans against Toledo. Michigan's got Western. It's going to be a year for improvement for both squads
1:27
Bryce Underwood in year number two is a Wolverine. Looking to see if they can reach nine wins
1:32
Over-unders at eight and a half. They were at nine last season, so I do like the over
1:35
Meanwhile, Spartans at four and a half. It is the debut season for Pat Fitzgerald
1:40
Alex posting a great article on why it's a big debut season for him. Make sure you check that out as well
1:46
But in conclusion, guys, let's get excited for Michigan and Michigan State. Football season upon us
1:51
Time to get pumped for that because it's also looking like it's the end of baseball season
1:55
Tigers looking like a lost cause. Final thoughts, though, even with him on injured reserve
2:00
going to miss Isaiah Pacheco. I do think the Lions have the talent to overcome those obstacles, though
2:05
Those are my thoughts. Would love to get your feedback. Make sure you drop your thoughts in the comments
