Detroit's local teams draw a full-throated backlash after rough games across the board

I'm going to give you a little weather advisory

If you're tuning in hoping to get a ray of sunshine, it ain't going to happen

The state of our local teams absolutely suck, and I refuse to pretend otherwise

I'm Dustin Fiocco with Detroit Sports Nation. It is time for your daily rundown to start off your week on this Monday

and I'll give you a fair warning out of the gate. You can call it a rant, but there is going to be a lot of negativity here

There's not a lot to be positive about. Now, where do we begin? How about we start off with our primetime game from last night

The Lions lose to Carolina 32-26, your final score. Now, I'm not going to come here and blame the offense

Was it their best game? No. They did give up some really bad penalties

That falls on coaching, that falls on offense. They also had to settle for field goals instead of touchdowns

I'm always pointing right at you with Dan Campbell haters. Lots of people dislike him going for it on fourth down

Doesn't always work out when you take the points, especially when you have a defense that can't stop a dang thing

So I'm not also blaming Dan Campbell for taking the field goals. I'm just saying expect him to go for it on fourth down like he always likes to do

especially this season, because we do not have the talent on defense

You want to blame anybody, blame Brad Holmes. He said, we good

We don't need help on defense. We're fine and dandy as it

That is a bold-faced lie. We have undoubtedly unquestionably unarguably the worst defense if you can call it that in the league This secondary is trash Kudos to Aleem McNeil for having good plays Kudos to Aiden Hutchinson for pressuring Bryce Young But outside of a pass rush you got no secondary And that falls on

Brad Holmes who said, we good. We don't need anybody. We need everybody. We need a somebody

because we have nobody on this secondary, at corner, at safety. We have nobody that can stop

anybody on an NFL level, and that falls on Brad Holmes. This Lions team is in struggles. Right now

their offense is good. I'm not going to complain about it. It wasn't their best game. They settled

for field goals instead of touchdowns, but you put up 400 plus yards of offense, you did pretty fine

It falls on the defense, which in return falls on Brad Holmes. He did not do enough for this team

going into the season. And our defense is pure evidence of that. There's a Lions rant. How about

we rant about our college teams now? Michigan State, they sucked. They couldn't put up a

touchdown against Wisconsin. Michigan, they got their little brown jugs twisted up by Minnesota

They lost two. Second loss on the season. They're not playing for diddly squat. Our college teams

suck now too. I'm fully confident. Just throw those seasons away. Michigan's not playing for

anything. We didn't expect the Spartans to play for anything. And we just talked about one Bryce

quarterback and Bryce Young. That's the good Bryce quarterback. Bryce Underwood, not the answer

not the guy. And I'm getting vibes from our coach that he agrees with that too. I'm hoping there's

no higher up saying that we have to play Underwood because I don think Coach Whittingham wants to play Underwood He shouldn want to play Underwood We are not a good offense because we do not have a good quarterback Michigan got a fine defense

better than fine. They've got a great defense, but they have no resemblance of an offense. The

complete opposite of the Lions. The Lions offense is fine. They have no defense. Michigan's defense

is fine. They have zero offense. So you put those two things together, bad offense, good defense

not going to win a lot of games. Good offense, bad defense, not going to win a lot of games

So right now, not seeing Michigan win many this year. Definitely not seeing the Spartans win many

this year. Our college programs, just as bad as the pros. Now I've ranted a lot about our football

teams, but let's not leave our hockey ones out of it. The Red Wings, I have said all off season

this team has operated as a joke. And we saw two games so far this season. Ha, ha, ha, ha

I'm seeing the punchline. The games are just as much of a joke. This team, I said it going into

the season. If they can win, you can put to bed all of the crap that we've heard in the offseason

The general manager drama, the Dylan Larkin not wanting to be here drama. Now, Simon Edmondson

We got articles on this. He doesn't want to be here anymore. That drama added to the bat

And who would want to be here anymore? Because the Red Wings blow

And if you need any argument to say that they are a joke of a team

go look at that first game of the season at LCA. When five minutes into that game you got chance of sell the team Before the puck drops for the first game of the season You got loud audible boos to your former captain Dylan Larkin That what happens when you a joke

Oh, and let's not mention that they went, what, almost 100 minutes in their season without scoring a goal

Start off their season with two losses, no wins? Yeah, Red Wings, they're a joke too

I had some actual expectations for this team actually entering into the season

thinking all of the drama they had in the offseason would inspire them to play well to start off the

year. But two games in, I guess that's too much to ask for because it looks like the same old

Red Wings. And if you want to say I'm overreacting after two games, no, no. If they won and you were

getting confident about it, then I'd say you're overreacting over two games. This has not been

two games. This has been 10 years. The last two games looked exactly like we've seen the last

several years. They play good for a lot of the game. They go down early in the game, though

and they just don't have any goal scorers to get themselves back in it. So the Red Wings

we'll add them to the football teams. They, too, are pure trash. Guys, I know this wasn't a pleasant

daily rundown. It was nothing but negativity. I stand firm. Our teams earned that negativity
